Preserving the Past for the Future

MAHS 2025 in Review

Memorial Day Program; History Faire Display; Union Cemetery Cleanup; Veterans Day audience and speaker, Tommy Symons; Spirit Day

Thanks to your donations, borough support, grants, and the work of a dedicated group of volunteers we made great strides in the past year to increase and preserve our archives and launch this new website. We continued our participation in community events such as the Fireworks Celebration, Spirit Day, the Schuylkill County History Faire, and an exhibit at Minersville’s Kat’s Café. We supported an annual cleanup of the Union Cemetery and held several informative programs honoring our area veterans

In our museum, we increased our capability to display military uniforms and ethnic attire, acquired a map flat file for our many antique maps of the anthracite region, and transformed a closet on the main floor into a lighted display case for seasonal exhibits.

For 2026, the 250th birthday of our nation, we have a robust schedule of programs, open houses, and events to celebrate Minersville Area’s accomplishments in art, sports, music, the law, mining, and the military.

To do all this we need you! We need your membership, your donations, and your participation. Come join us as we uncover more of the area’s history one program, one archive donation, one story at a time.
